    We want to find out if behavioural activation (BA) works for young people with low mood. There are a lot of keen therapists in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) who would like to give better help to young people but need more training.   18. Prevalence of pathogenetic antibodies in psychosis (PPiP2)

    Overview

    There is some evidence that some cases of psychosis may be caused by a specific problem with the immune system. The immune system normally controls our ability to fight infection. If the immune system goes wrong it may cause condition called ‘autoimmune’ diseases. We can diagnose some of these diseases using blood tests.

    This study aims to see how many people with psychosis may have this specific problem with their immune system. We can find out that by testing your blood sample for specific antibodies.

    StrataStem Ltd specialises in the cell biology of Alzheimer’s disease and is looking at new methods of early diagnosis and in identifying new drugs to treat the disease.     Overview

    We want to explore if matching certain subgroups of people with depression to a particular therapy would help patients.  In this pilot randomized controlled trial, we will randomly assign some Talking Therapies sites to an experimental group, and others to a control group.  The TherapyMatch-D computer programme will give a personalised treatment recommendation to some patients in the experimental group.

    We are carrying out a clinical trial of a talking therapy called Method of Levels for people using Early Intervention in Psychosis services. The therapy will be delivered by care coordinators who are working in Early Intervention in Psychosis services. We think that training care coordinators in Method of Levels therapy could make Early Intervention in Psychosis services more helpful for people using them.
