Supporting health and wellbeing in North Manchester

No 93 Wellbeing centre has been a community hub at the heart of Harpurhey for many years and is an important place for the whole community.

  •  At the centre, there is an informal drop-in from 10am – 3pm, Monday – Friday
  • In the café area, people can come for a hot drink and meal, have a chat and a game of pool.
  • The art room has a variety of different creative groups
  • There is a one to one room for private health and wellbeing related appointments
  • A relaxation room and a space for exercise classes
  • GMMH’s Psychological Therapies service is also based in the building, with prearranged appointments

There is an informal drop-in Monday-Friday, from 10am-3pm and the Café serves food and drinks.

  • If you need help with benefits or debt, please contact info@gatewayM40.org or 0161 202 3511 and an Outreach Worker can arrange to meet with you at No. 93 on a Tuesday morning.
  • Health walks are on Thursdays at 11am and 1pm, meeting outside the centre and walking to a local park. For more info, contact reception on 0161 271 0908 or harpurhey@gmmh.nhs.uk

An out of hours friendly and supportive community space open to anyone in Manchester, Bolton, Salford and Trafford, experiencing a mental health crisis.

SMASH Mental Health Arts Programme November Schedule

Do you live or have a connection to Moston, Harpurhey and Charlestown?

Are you currently struggling with your mental heath and well-being?

SMASH offers you a range of different creative activities that suit your own experiences and interests. You don’t need to know anything about art!

You can choose from a range of creative experiences that will:

  • Help you improve how you feel
  • Increase your understanding of mental health and illness
  • Help you to meet and talk with other people facing similar experiences
  • Increase confidence in talking about your experiences
  • Provide new creative ways for expressing your feelings

You can sign up to SMASH activities at any time and you can choose whichever of the different activities suit you.

November Activities

10th November: CHAT 10.30-12/12:30  Join poet & playwright Chris Singleton in conversation about the themes of his one man show ‘How to Be a

Better Human’, a spoken-word comedy about grief, loss and self acceptance. A chance for you to reflect, write and share.

17th November   10.30-12.30/1pm GO & SEE—We will be visiting the Portico Library to see the current collection, Bookends and Beginnings: Stories from our collections, presented by our volunteers.

24th November : 10.30-12.30 CREATE: Join artist Lynne Calland and create an abstract ink painting reflecting your mood and emotions.

Bike Library Sessions

Borrow a bike for FREE every Monday 10am - 2pm or by appointment.

ID/documentation required: Proof of address, plus photo ID

Please help us by donating any unused bikes. Our mechanics will refurbish and repair your donated bike and offer it on loan or sell at an affordable price in the local commuity.

Visit on Wednesdays at 12pm for a local bike ride and gain more confidence riding a bike.

Each participant chooses music and we listen to each other's choices respectfully. Listening to music together can be very therapeutic, it's fantastic for our wellbeing and helps us connect with each other.
