Clean up crew around North Manchester hospital site!
Staff and partners of Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust (GMMH) took part in a local litter pick around the site of the Trust’s new purpose-built mental health development.
GMMH’s North View Development Project Team organised a litter picking event near the new North View site on North Manchester General Hospital in February as part of their Social Value plan.
Thirteen members of staff from GMMH, DAY Project Management Ltd, and Integrated Health Projects - The Trust’s Principal Supply Chain Partner for the new North View building – took part on the day.
The litter picking took place for 90 minutes around Crumpsall Park where a whopping 27 bags of rubbish were collected!
Deborah Goodman, Associate Director of Operations for GMMH, said: “ Litter picking is a simple action that can make an immediate and visible difference to the environment on our doorstep. We are really proud of our new development and wanted to improve the area around it by coming together with colleagues, partners and local businesses to help clean up the neighbourhood.”
Manchester Council’s Keep Manchester Tidy initiative, a partnership between the Council and Keep Britain Tidy, aided this by providing a sample risk assessment, delivering equipment, and collecting all the bags of rubbish at the end.
