Bolton Single Point of Access (SPOA)

About the service

The Bolton Single Point of Access Team is based at the Lever Chambers Centre for Health. The function of the Single Point of Access team is to take referrals for Bolton residents and direct them to the most appropriate service. The service accepts referrals from General Practitioners, social care professionals, and other health professionals for service users with mental health and psychological needs. 

Members of the public can self-refer for talking therapies to help with anxiety and depression-related difficulties.

You can contact the Single Point of Access Team by telephone on 01204 483101 from 9am to 5pm. To self-refer for NHS Talking Therapies online, please utilise this link.

Professionals can refer service users for NHS Talking Therapies by this link.

Please note, online referrals are monitored and processed within working hours: 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday.

Urgent/Crisis Pathways

If you are a service user in crisis, please use the following advice:

  • Contact your GP or dial 111.
  • Contact GMMH 24/7 helpline on 0800 953 0285 to talk to a mental health professional.
  • Go to the nearest Accident & Emergency Department.
  • Call 999 and ask for an ambulance.
