Greater Manchester West Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust (GMW) has been highlighted as one of the highest performing mental health NHS organisations in England when it comes to Community Mental Health care. GMW received the highest score from service users in England in respect of their overall experience with mental health services.

The results are in after the vote for the preferred new name, for the proposed combined organisation following Greater Manchester West Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust and Manchester Mental Health and Social Care Trust joining forces on the first of January 2017.
